I am having my own little celebration this weekend.
Exactly ONE year ago Jeff (my husband of over 15 years) returned from Iraq, healthy and in one piece.
It brings tears to my eyes and makes my breath catch to remember the moment I saw him return from war. (He was SO buff and tanned a dark brown ~makes me melt a little thinking about it!)
Unless you have experienced it, you will never understand. Having someone you love, more than anything or anyone else, return from a place where each moment could be their last is such a blessing!
The next time you see or talk to a Service Member or their family, please make sure you thank them for their sacrifices.

Throwing a Retirement and Deployment Party......
Right this moment, we are awaiting about 20 friends from Jeff's office.
Being in the Military causes such close friendships with those we serve side by side with. One of Jeff's teaching partners is retiring and another is being deployed. Our prayers are going out to their families through these changes.
We have bitter sweet feelings about these friends leaving. We have had a great year getting to know them and Jeff has such fond memories of the classes they have co-taught. We would love to see them stay here in VA, but know that they are going where God and the Military want them.
So what do we do to send them off?
Can you say PAARRRRRTY?

Swindled.....
Sorry I haven't kept up with this site! Needless to say it has been a difficult, nutso and crazy month.
The Good: We had company about 2 weeks ago and a great party with Jeff's students.
The OK: I am recovering from hand surgery to get rid of a ganglion cyst in my ring finger. -more info can be found on my writers blog-
The BAD- We were swindled! Yup SWINDLED, robbed, taken; how many other words can I use? -don't get me started!
See this beautiful Jeep?
Well we paid for it and it should be ours but guess what? The person we bought it from had stollen someones Ebay identity and ran away with the $. We had checked with e-bay 4 times and confirmed with what we thought was E-bay to find out that this guy was slick. He and his friends had not only hacked Ebay but they ALSO created a whole Ebay site that we were diverted to from then on - even for the payment! UGGGG!
All the info has been sent to the FBI and we most likely will NEVER see the $ again. Sad, I know.
So that has been our month in short. I'm praying that June will be SO much better!
